Senior Application Operations Specialist (Application NOC)

Play a core role in monitoring, coordinating, and resolving application incidents, ensuring stable service operation and meeting SLA commitments. Work closely with DevOps, SRE, and Engineering teams to perform root-cause analysis, improve processes, and raise operational quality.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor system/application operations by shift, ensuring timely detection of alerts and incidents.

  • Support L1 Operators in handling complex alerts, verifying incidents, and escalating correctly to L2/L3.

  • Operate and update runbooks, checklists, shift-handover procedures, and NOC operations documentation.

  • Track P1/P2/P3 incidents on the ticketing system, updating timeline, owner, SLA, and handling status.

  • Coordinate with DevOps, SRE, Application Operations, and Engineering to follow remediation until the service is stable.

  • Participate in war-rooms, postmortems/RCA, and follow action items after incidents until closure.

  • Operate dashboards on Grafana, Datadog APM, logging platforms, and Jira Service Desk.

  • Track NOC KPIs: MTTD, MTTA, MTTR, SLA compliance, alert volume, false alert rate.

  • Support training L1 Operators and propose improvements to alerts, dashboards, runbooks, and automation.

Requirements

  • College/University degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in NOC, IT Operations, Application Operations, Helpdesk L2, or system operations.

  • Experience monitoring applications/systems via dashboards, alerts, logs, and ticketing systems.

  • Able to use at least some tools such as Grafana, Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, Zabbix, Jira Service Desk, or equivalent.

  • Able to read logs, metrics, and error messages to verify and initially isolate incidents.

  • Basic understanding of API, server, database, network, cloud, and container is an advantage.

  • Familiar with incident handling, escalation, shift-handover, and ticket update processes.

  • Working-level English for reading technical documents.

Preferred

  • Experience operating applications with large user bases.

  • Experience working with DevOps, SRE, Engineering, and Customer Support.

  • Basic SQL to look up data/logs for incident investigation.

  • Experience improving checklists, runbooks, alert rules, or dashboards.

  • Skills & qualities: careful, disciplined, quick-reacting in an operations environment.

  • Clear, concise communication during incidents or escalations.

  • An ownership mindset, following incidents until handed over or closed.

  • Able to support L1 Operators during shifts. Willing to work in shifts if the operating model requires.

Working Hours

  • 05 official working days at the office (Monday – Friday).
  • 02 remote working days per month on Saturdays on a rotating schedule.
  • Flexible working hours with check-in window from 08:30 – 09:30.
  • Proactively manage time to complete 08 working hours/day.
